Music Concert Reschedule

The RAS Music Concert has been moved from April 12 to April 19 due to a scheduling conflict.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  The concert will still be held at  the RSA Auditorium.

Concert begins at 6:00 PM.  RSA student musicians need to be in the music room by 5:30 PM

Students that find it more convenient may stay at school until the 5:30 call time.  Students must be in the music room or supervised while at school.

Call Times For Festivals at South Changed to 4:30 PM Not 6:30!

The reason for the earlier call time is for a combined practice with RSA, PAA and SHS both on String Fest, April 24th and Band Fest, April 26th.

Southside String Festival

6:30 – 7:00 PM Warm up

7:00 PM Concert begins

Performance will feature the RSA Orchestra, PAA Orchestras and SHS Orchestra, Combined Orchestra of RSA, PAA, SHS for the grand finale. We ask that all RSA students stay to be part of this finale.

Performance will feature the RSA Concert Band, Beginning Band, PAA Bands, SHS Concert Band, Combined Band of RSA, PAA, SHS for the grand finale. We ask that all RSA students stay to be part of this finale.

 

Family and friends are invited to all performances, no admission fee.

 

Concert attire for RSA musicians, black dress shirt, black dress pants, black socks and shoes, white ties will be provided or students may wear their own.

 

There will not be district transportation to the SHS concerts students must get rides to and from the high school.  The new 4:30 practice time at SHS is required so please look into finding a ride if needed.  Often students can find a ride with a another student. If you need help finding a ride please let Mr. Smith know ahead of time so he can help make arrangements to find rides for those in need of one.  

 

All RSA Concerts in April are REQUIRED and a significant part of each student’s semester grade. Please keep in mind the importance of attending to make these performances a success!!

PCS 6th Annual Jazz Festival Information

What:  Jazz Band Jazz Festival performance

When: Thursday, February 15, 2018 @ 6:30 PM

Where: East High School Auditorium

Call Time:  6:00 PM

Concert Dress: The all black uniform, fedora hats and suspenders are optional. Students may wear their own white ties or use one of the schools.  School ties need to be turned in to Mr. Smith after the performance.

This performance is for the PCS 6th Annual Jazz Festival.  The festival raises money for the PCS Education Foundation.   All PCS middle school and high school jazz bands will perform that evening. 

RSA usually performs early at 6:30 PM so be at East by 6:00 PM!!

Students must find transportation to East that evening there will not be district transportation provided.

Since this is a fundraiser there will are NO complimentary tickets for family and friends.

Tickets are $5.00 and will be sold at the door.

Jazz band members and Children 5 yrs and younger get in free. 

This is a required graded performance and important that all members of the RSA Jazz band attend!!

Parade of Lights 2017

To: Parents/Guardians, Marching Band, Flags

What: The Parade is November 25th  call time 4:00 PM   all parade contestants must be in place by 4:30 PM   Parade begins at 5:30PM

Where: The corner of Colorado and Evans Roncalli is # 7 in the parade.  Roncalli should step off shortly after 5:30 pm and end within an hour of the start of the parade.

Students should be dropped off within walking distance to their line-up station. Vehicles will not be allowed into the parade line-up area to drop-off participants.  Quincy would be the best drop off street.  Please see attached map on back.

The Parade will begin at Colorado and Abriendo, proceed down the hill to Union Avenue and continue on Union to Main Street and Main to 6thStreet where it will end on the corner of 6th & Court.

Parents please make arrangements to pick-up students at the end of the parade route. Tell your child where to meet.  Have cell phones ready and be looking out for our band as they enter the end of the route.

Extra parking available in the Downtown area at PB&T Motor Bank lot at 2nd & Court and Pueblo Chamber at 4th & Santa Fe

UNIFORMS

Marching Band/Drumline/Flags: black long sleeve dress shirt or Roncalli black polo, solid black pants, black tennis/casual shoes.  Wear warm socks and shoes.

Drummers may decorate their drums with wrapping paper, lights, bows, garland. Ect….   All members are encourages to accessorize with Santa hats, lights, glow sticks.

Dress according to the weather!! Be prepared to wear clothing items that will keep you warm.  Thermals, long sleeves, coats, earmuffs, knit caps, scarfs, gloves, warm socks and shoes.  If wearing gloves check to see if you can play in them. You may need to find an inexpensive light pair that you can cut the finger tips off so you can play your instrument.         Dress Warm!!

Students are responsible for taking and bringing back their instruments/equipment.  Do not leave anything behind at the end of the route!!

Parent volunteers that would like to accompany the band on the route to help in anyway are welcome. Please text or call Mr. Smith

Music Practice/Performance Schedule

Monday, November 6 at 7:10 AM before school marching band, flag team and drumline rehearsals start.  Rehearsals will run every morning before school up until Thanksgiving Break.

Thursday, November 9 Pride and Patriotism Performance.  Concert Band and Choir students will perform at Memorial Hall.  
Concert begins at 6:00 PM.  RSA students need to be at Memorial Hall by 4:30 PM for dress rehearsal.  Students wear all black concert uniform. 

Tuesday, November 12 at 6:00 PM RSA Fall Concert, Concert Band Advanced Strings, Choir, Jazz Band will perform.  Call time 5:30 PM in the music room.  Students wear all black concert uniform.

Saturday, November 25  Parade of Lights, Junction area, Pueblo.  Marching band, flag team, and drumline will perform in the parade that evening.  More info to follow soon. 

Please look for letters sent home with your child with information about these upcoming performances. 

Roncalli STEM Academy Dress Code

RONCALLI STEM ACADEMY DRESS CODE

Roncalli STEM Academy has implemented a simplified school dress code that utilizes a professional look that represents the strong educational focus that embodies a STEM Academy.  Based on surveys, parent meetings, and staff input we moved to a dress code that consists of only black polo’s and khaki pants.  These items can be purchased at Embroidery Plus at 501 West Street (719-542-0234).  . We here at Roncalli STEM Academy are very excited for the upcoming school year and the continuing changes for school improvement.

*Update for 2018-2019:  In addition to the black polo shirt and khaki pants, Roncalli STEM students are also permitted to wear a Roncalli logo sweatshirt or black Roncalli zip up jacket. Zip up jacket is sold at Embroidery Plus.   (black polo shirts must be worn under).

School Safety
Exterior doors at Roncalli Middle School are locked. All Visitors must press the button ONCE to contact the front office for entry.  After entering the building, all parents/visitors must proceed to the front office to sign-in and obtain a visitor badge.
