Parents, Staff and Roncalli Students,
Since the beginning of this school year, Roncalli Middle School has been following the 2010-2011 Dress Code. A new Uniform Dress Code was planned to start second quarter of 2011-2012. After meetings with parents, staff and students, we have decided to form a dress code committee. We would like this committee to honor the input of all stakeholders. Please contact the school principal, Karen Newton, if you would like to serve on the committee.
The 2010-11 dress code will remain in effect with the following modifications: Polo shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts or sweaters can either be solid green, white, black and do not require a Roncalli logo. T-shirts will still require a Roncalli logo.
The following is the complete dress code:
Shirts/Tops
All shirts, sweatshirts, and sweaters will satisfy the following conditions:
- All T-shirts must be imprinted with a Roncalli logo
- Polos, sweatshirts, hoodies or sweaters must be solid white, green, or black only
- If you wear a visible undershirt or turtle neck it must be one of Roncalli’s colors (black, white or green)
- No sleeveless shirts or tops allowed
- A Roncalli t-shirt or a polo shirt must be worn under all sweaters, sweatshirts or hoodies
Pants/Shorts/Skirts/Skorts/Jumpers:
- Solid Colors: Black, navy, gray, khaki/brown, white, or blue jeans (Plaid shorts are acceptable) and must be free from holes, decals, chains, or any other decorations
- Straight-legged dress/casual pants
- No baggy or excessively tight clothing; clothing must be within one size of student’s standard measurement
- Shorts and skirts must reach fingertips when arms are extended to the side
- No camouflage clothing allowed
- No pajama bottoms or any type of sleepwear (including bedroom slippers) may be worn to school
- Athletic pants are acceptable as long as they are solid green, black, navy, gray, khaki or brown and not baggy or excessively tight
- Leggings are not allowed
- Pants must be worn at the waist (no sagging)
- Belts may not hang below the shirt
- No hats, bandannas, sunglasses, hair nets, gloves, or do-rags
- No excessive jewelry or accessories which contain vulgar, lewd, obscene message or logos or advocate the use of alcohol or drugs, identify gangs, or make reference to any illegal activity
- No bare midriff

Thank you for your continued support of our Roncalli school community,
Karen Newton, Principal
